1914-1917: Enlisted Leeds.

Cyrils Sister Edith Married Wilfred Stanton who died at Home he lays at rest in Armley Cemetery he is also remembered on this War Memorial.

1911: Residence Connaught Barracks Rawal Pindi India serving with the 1st Bn West Yorkshire Regiment.
1914: Landed in France 05th November 1914 Herbert was classed as an old contemptible being part of the original British Expeditionary Force and suffered from Frost Bite and was sent home.
1915: Returned to France in September.
1915-1917: Herbert was sent to the Mediteranean before returning to Belgium.
1918: Personal effects were sent to his mother at 48 Havelock Street Wellington Road New Wortley.
1919: Death Penny and Scroll was sent to father at No 12 Southfield View Armley.
1921-1923: Herbert was found at map Reference 28.I.30.b.40.70 alongside 6 others being identified by his service Disc and name on Clothing. Being re buried where he lies at peace today.
